Online Risk Management Application (RMA)

The Washington Youth Soccer Risk Management Application must be filled out completely and properly submitted before any volunteer (including Referees) age 18 and older may begin working as a volunteer of Washington Youth Soccer.

Click here for the online link.

Please complete the form and check your email for a link that will inform you of the status of your RMA application.  The link will also tell you when your card was printed and provide your RMA number.  Once the RMA is submitted online, it will automatically renew every two years.

Also, recertification clinics can be found by clicking here for the WASRC Clinic listings.

WANTING TO UPGRADE?

Ever wonder what level game qualifies for use in upgrading?

Click here to see which League Games qualify for which level of Referee Certification.

UPGRADE:  Grade 9 to Grade 8

There are two ways in which you can upgrade from a Grade 9 (Recreational Referee) to a Grade 8 Referee.

     1.  Attend the next Entry Level Clinic (ELC) given to train new Grade 8 Referees on February 23, 2013 at
the TRAC Soccer Complex building in Pasco, WA.
Click here for more information on Clinic #1111.

     2.  Attend a "Bridge Clinic".  None are scheduled in the Tri-Cities right now, but you can send
Ken Albin, the Area Referee Administrator
, an email indicating your interest.

You can also check out the clinic schedule on the WASRC website.

UPGRADE:  Grade 8 to Grade 7

Here are the pre-requisites to start the upgrade process (Ken Albin, the Area Referee Administrator, can help you along with this):

         1.  Center a minimum of 75 USSF-sanctioned games (i.e., excludes high school, college, and
indoor matches) using the Diagonal System of Control (DSC) for at least 60 of the 75 games.
(note:  using Club ARs instead of registered referees does count)

         2.  AR a minimum of 25 USSF-sanctioned games (i.e., excludes high school, college, and
indoor matches) using the Diagonal System of Control (DSC) for at least 20 of the 25 games.
(note: having one Club AR instead of a registered referee does count)

         3.  Achieve an 85% on the Entry Level Referee Recertification Exam.

         4.  Attend an Intermediate-level Clinic as identified on the WASRC clinic site.

         5.  Arrange for a physical fitness (running) test with either Jim Kritzberg or Ken Albin.
The fitness test is a 12-minute run for distance, 50 meter run, followed by a 200 meter run.
(note: there are maximum times required for passing based on your age)

         6.  Submit a paperwork package to the Washington State Director of Referee Assessment through

Ken Albin.

UPGRADE:  Grade 7 to Grade 6

Please email Jim Kritzberg, our Area Instructor Coordinator, to discuss in detail what it takes to upgrade to a State Referee level badge.
